Peanut Brittle
Peanut Brittle is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. water, 1/2 c. white karo, 1 1/2 c. raw peanuts and dash of salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Grease a large cookie sheet with butter or spray with Pam. Place on dough board or trivet.
In a heavy bottom pan, combine the water, sugar and Karo.
Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until mixture spins a thread.
Sprinkle in the peanuts; stir until the peanuts pop and the mixture turns an amber color.
Turn off heat.
Add salt and butter.
Mix well.
Add the soda.
Stir quickly.
Mixture will foam.
Pour immediately onto sheet.
Spread thin.
Thinness is what insures the candy will be brittle.
When cool, break in pieces.
Do not make on a rainy day.
