Peanut Brittle
Peanut Brittle is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. karo light syrup, 1/2 c. water, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Combine sugar, syrup and water in a large pan.
Cook over high heat, stirring until syrup tests to 230°.
Add peanuts and salt, stirring down when boils up.
Cook to 290°.
Remove from fire and add soda mixed with 1 teaspoon water, butter and flavoring.
Stir thoroughly.
Pour on marbled slab or buttered cookie sheet, pulling to thin out (wear gloves).
Cool before breaking.
