Peach Custard Ice Cream
Peach Custard Ice Cream is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. milk, 1 1/2 c. heavy cream, 1 vanilla bean, split (optional), 3 eggs and 1 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Heat milk and cream together with vanilla bean in heavy pan over low heat.
In large bowl, mix eggs, sugar, flour and salt and stir in a little of heated milk-cream mixture.
Pour contents of the bowl into the heavy pan with remaining milk-cream mixture.
Stir over low heat, without scorching, until thick and smooth.
Remove from heat; discard vanilla bean and add peaches.
Place in hand-cranked churn or electric ice cream maker and churn until cold and thick.
Let mellow 30 minutes in freezer before serving.
