Payday Bars
Payday Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box yellow cake mix, 1 egg, beaten, 3/4 c. white karo syrup, 1/2 stick margarine and 2 c. salted peanuts (cocktail peanuts), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix cake mix with 1 stick melted margarine and beaten egg. Press in the bottom of a buttered 9 x 13-inch cake pan and bake at 350Β° for 15 minutes.
Top with marshmallows and put back in oven until marshmallows are melted.
Melt 1/2 stick margarine and mix with syrup.
Add peanut butter chips and heat until melted.
(I use my microwave for this.)
Stir in nuts and cereal.
Spread on top of marshmallows. Cool. Cut into squares.
