Pat's Mexicali Cornbread
Pat'S Mexicali Cornbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. pork hot sausage, fried and drained, 1/2 c. self-rising flour, 1 c. self-rising corn meal, 3 tbsp. sugar and 1 c. whole milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Mix batter thoroughly and add sausage, cheese, pepperoni, onion and hot peppers.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 1 hour at 350Β°.
When cooled, cut into desired sized pieces.
Can be wrapped in Saran Wrap or plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil for freezing.
Great later when warmed in microwave oven.
