Blend shortening and sugar; beat in vanilla and eggs.
Sift remaining dry ingredients together.
Add to the sugar and egg mixture; mix well.

Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Decorate top of cookies with remaining M&M's.
