Party Cake
Party Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. flour, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. shortening and 3/4 c. sweet milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Grease sides of two 8-inch layer pans.
Line bottom of each pan with waxed paper dusted with flour.
Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into a large mixing bowl.
Add the shortening and 1/2 cup milk; beat 2 minutes on low speed of mixer. Add remaining milk, vanilla and egg whites.
Beat 2 minutes. Bake in a moderate 375Β° oven for 25 minutes.
