Heat oven to 400Β°.
Cream the shortening, sugars and vanilla. Beat in eggs until mixture is fluffy.
Blend in flour, coconut, oats and orange bits.
Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Yields 5 dozen.
