Orange Slice Candy Cake
Orange Slice Candy Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. dates, chopped, 1 lb. candy orange slices, 2 c. chopped pecans, 1 can angel flake coconut and 1/2 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cream oleo and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs, one at a time; beat well.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add dates, orange slices (chopped finely) and nuts.
Coat fruit well.
Add flour mixture and coconut to creamed mixture.
This makes a very stiff dough.
Put in greased floured 13 x 9-inch or Bundt pan.
Bake at 250Β° for about 2 1/2 hours.
Combine orange juice and powdered sugar.
Pour over hot cake.
