Orange Date Cake
Orange Date Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. buttermilk, 1 pkg. dates, cut and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs, one at a time. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add all-purpose flour in 3 parts alternately with buttermilk.
Add orange rind, dates and pecan pieces.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours in a preheated 325Β° oven.
When cake is done, pour sauce for Orange Date Cake over it and allow cake to cool in pan.
