Orange Cake
Orange Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. orange juice, 1 tbsp. orange peel, 1 c. butter and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix sugar, orange juice and orange peel to dissolve.
Next, cream butter and 2 cups sugar.
Add egg yolks and flour alternately with buttermilk in which soda has been dissolved.
Add grated peel of 2 oranges, 1 package dates (cut up) and nuts. Last, add beaten egg whites.
Do not overbeat after you fold in the egg whites.
Bake 1 1/2 hours.
First 45 minutes at 325°, lower to 300° and bake 45 minutes more.
