Onion Soup
Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 tsp. butter, 6 large onions, thinly sliced, 3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans of condensed beef broth, 3 c. water and 1 tsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
In 4-quart pan over medium heat, melt butter; add onions; cook until tender and golden, stirring occasionally.
Stir in undiluted beef broth, water, sugar, Worcestershire and salt.
Over high heat, heat to boiling.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Preheat broiler, place bread on cookie sheet.
Toast both sides. Add cheese to bread and melt in broiler.
Put bread on top of bowl of soup.
