Old Fashioned Stack Cake
Old Fashioned Stack Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. shortening, 3/4 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar, 1/2 c. molasses, 2 eggs and 2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine shortening, sugar, molasses and eggs.
Cream until light and fluffy.
Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, blending well.
Cover and chill at least 1 hour.
Divide dough into 5 parts and pat into 5 well-greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
Bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
