Old-Fashioned Stack Cake
Old-Fashioned Stack Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar (can use 1/2 c. molasses), 1 c. butter, 1 c. buttermilk, 1 tsp. baking soda and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix together first 5 ingredients, then add spices to taste. Knead in enough flour until dough can be rolled out and made into thin layers (can use regular round cake pan as cutter, slicing each layer the same size).
Makes 8 to 9 layers.
Bake at 450Β° until browned.
Cook down apples; sweeten to taste.
Can add more spices. Put apples between layers as you stack them.
