Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. crisco shortening, 1 1/2 c. buttermilk, 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring, 1/4 c. cocoa and 3 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Add soda to buttermilk and set aside.
Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs one at a time.
Add other ingredients.
Add flour and milk alternately.
Makes 4 layers.
