Old-Fashion Sugar Cookies
Old-Fashion Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 2 c. sugar, divided, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. lemon extract and 1 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream shortening, add 1 1/2 cups sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and flavorings; beat well.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture; mix.
Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 3 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Press cookies with a fork to flatten.
Sprinkle cookies with remaining sugar.
Bake at 375Β° for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove to wire racks to cool.
Yield: 8 dozen.
