Oatmeal Refrigerator Rolls
Oatmeal Refrigerator Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. or cakes yeast, 1/2 c. lukewarm water, 5 to 5 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1/2 c. shortening and 2 unbeaten eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
Pour scalded milk over shortening, sugar and salt until shortening melts.
Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in 1 cup flour and eggs.
Add softened or proofed yeast; fold in oats.
Stir in enough flour to make soft dough. Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead until satiny, about 10 minutes.
Pound dough into a ball and place in greased ball. Brush with melted shortening.
Cover and let rise until double in size (about 1 hour).
