Preheat oven to 350Β°. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix 4 tablespoons butter, sugar, flour, vanilla and salt until smooth.
Mix in rolled oats.
Drop firmly packed spoonfuls of dough 2-inches apart onto baking sheets.
Bake until golden brown.
Rotate sheets halfway through baking (about 12 to 15 minutes).
Cool on sheet 1 minute.
Transfer with thin metal spatula onto paper towels and cool completely.
