Oatmeal Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. white sugar, 1 egg and 1/4 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy.
Add remaining ingredients.
Mix well and add raisins and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350Β°.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
