Mix boiling water and oatmeal.
Let stand 20 minutes.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs one at a time, beat.
Sift flour, measure, resift with soda, salt and cinnamon.
Add oatmeal last. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 325Β° for 35 to 40 minutes.
