Oatmeal Bread
Oatmeal Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 tbsp. yeast, 1/2 c. warm water, 2 1/4 c. scalded milk, 1/3 c. honey and 1/4 c. butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Put yeast in water; let stand 5 minutes.
Put scalded milk in large bowl with honey, butter and salt.
Stir until butter melts. Add 2 cups flour and oats.
Stir and cool (lukewarm).
Add yeast and mix well.
Stir in enough flour to make soft dough.
Knead 10 minutes.
Put in greased bowl.
Cover and rise until doubled. Punch down.
Put in 2 loaf pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes.
