Nut Cake
Nut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. pecans, 1/2 c. raisins, 2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, cloves and mace and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Break up nuts; mix half of the flour with raisins and nuts. Sift other flour with spices and soda.
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten yolks, molasses and wine.
Fold in beaten egg whites, then floured raisins and nuts, lastly, the sifted flour.
Pour into greased pan.
Bake 2 hours at 300Β°.
Cool.
Sprinkle with wine, whiskey or brandy.
Wrap in waxed paper.
