No Fail Homemade Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 12 c. flour, 2 c. milk, 2/3 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. shortening and 2 2/3 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Scald together milk, sugar and shortening.
Remove from heat. Add 2 cups water and salt.
Let cool slightly.
Mix 1 package yeast with 2/3 cup warm milk mixture and yeast mixture.
Stir together and add remaining flour, 2 cups at a time.
Knead dough to a smooth consistency.
Let rise to double size.
Punch down and rise again. Work into rolls or loaves and place in greased pan.
Bake 1/2 hour at 400° and 1/2 hour at 350°.
Makes one 9 x 13-inch pan plus 1 loaf.
