Boil first 6 ingredients gently for 3 minutes.
Cool in a large bowl.
Beat in eggs; add orange juice, cherries and nuts.
Sift remaining ingredients.
Add gradually to fruit mixture.
Makes three 7 x 3-inch pans or two 2 1/2 x 5-inch pans.
Bake in slow oven at 275Β° for approximately 1 hour, depending on pans used.
