Mushroom Sauce(Served On Christmas Eve Over Varenyky-Pyrohy) is an moderately easy dinner. Rinse dried mushrooms and soak about 5 to 10 minutes in enough water to cover.
Chop mushrooms and put in 1 quart saucepan.
Add cold water to cover, about 2 to 3 inches from the top of the mushrooms.
Cover; bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and add fresh chopped mushrooms.
Cook about 1 hour until soft.
