Mulberry Shortcake
Mulberry Shortcake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Made with c. mulberries, c. honey or sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and egg, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Pour mulberries into greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Pour honey or sugar over berries.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Combine egg, milk, oil and honey or brown sugar in mixing bowl; blend well.
Fold in flour, baking powder and salt, adding a small amount of milk, if necessary, to form very soft dough. Spread dough over berries.
Bake at 400Β° for about 20 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
Serves 6 to 8.
