Mother's Rolls
Mother'S Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 egg, beaten, 2 tsp. salt and 1 1/2 c. warm milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
In a large bowl dissolve yeast in water.
Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg, milk and 3 cups flour.
Stir; let rest 10 minutes. Mix in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Turn out and knead until smooth, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Place in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise until doubled.
Punch dough down. Turn out onto a surface and let rest for 5 minutes.
Grease muffin cups.
Divide into balls in each cup.
Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
Bake at 375Β° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
