Mother's Parker House Rolls
Mother'S Parker House Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. warm milk, 4 tsp. shortening, 4 tsp. sugar, 2 yeast cakes and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Heat the milk and shortening together.
Mix the sugar and yeast cakes together until liquid.
Add salt and egg.
Add lukewarm milk mixture.
Add flour until right consistency.
Let raise 15 to 30 minutes on a warm place, until double in bulk. (Grandma used to put it on the radiator.)
Roll out about one inch thick.
Cover with melted butter; cut with a glass.
Fold cut roll.
Place in pan side by side.
Let raise in warm place again for 1/2 hour.
Bake in hot oven about 20 minutes or until well done.
