Mother's Gingerbread
Mother'S Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. crisco, 1/2 c. butter, 1 c. sugar, 2 c. sifted flour and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream Crisco and butter; add sugar gradually while creaming. Sift dry ingredients.
Add eggs and then sifted dry ingredients. Then add molasses and water to Crisco and sugar mixture.
Beat with a rotary beater to mix thoroughly and pour into well-greased oblong cake pans and bake at 350Β° for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serves with vanilla sauce.
Serve 16 to 18.
