Mother's Applesauce Cake
Mother'S Applesauce Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. crisco, 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp. baking soda and 1 c. thick applesauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream Crisco, sugar and egg together.
Dissolve soda into applesauce and add.
Sift flour, cinnamon and cloves with part of flour.
Add to the first mixture.
Add enough flour to make a fairly stiff batter (amount depends upon the thickness of the applesauce).
Pour into a greased loaf pan.
Bake in a moderate oven at 350Β° for 50 to 60 minutes.
