Mom's Apple Pie Bars
Mom'S Apple Pie Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 1 c. shortening, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 egg yolk and milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix 2 1/2 cups flour, shortening and salt like pie crust.
Put egg yolk into measuring cup and fill with milk to measure 2/3 cup. (Save whites for later.)
Mix with flour mixture.
Slice apples. Blend sugar, cinnamon, tapioca and 2 tablespoons flour.
Mix all together.
Divide dough in half.
Pat 1/2 of mixture in bottom of cookie sheet.
Arrange apples on crust.
Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples.
Put on other half of dough for top crust.
