Molasses Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 c. molasses and 4 c. plain flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream shortening and sugar, beating well.
Add eggs and molasses; mix well.
Combine flour and next 4 ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk; begin and end with flour mixture.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 1 1/2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 9 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar after you remove from oven.
