Molasses Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 c. molasses and 1 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Cream shortening.
Add sugar and egg; beat well.
Add molasses; stir until blended.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
Beat well.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets 2-inches apart.
Sprinkle sugar on top, if desired.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
