Molasses Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. molasses, 2/3 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 c. crisco oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix first 7 ingredients and roll out on a biscuit sheet until stiff; cut in four parts.
Press into 8-inch cake pan.
Makes four thin layers.
Bake at 350Β° for 20 minutes.
Spread applesauce between each layer.
