Grease casserole dish.

Put one layer of potatoes to cover bottom of casserole.

Add 1/3 of sliced onions, then a layer of ground chuck.

Continue with two more layers; cover the top with tomato soup with 1 teaspoon sugar added.

A small amount of water may be added to rinse soup cans.

Cover and bake in 325° oven 1 3/4 hours or in 350° oven about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours until potatoes are done.
