Mississippi Strips(Sweet and Sour Pickle)
Mississippi Strips(Sweet And Sour Pickle) is an easy dinner. Made with cucumbers, mixed pickling spice, salt, 5 1/2 c. vinegar and 5 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Wash cucumbers, cut ends off and slice lengthwise in strips. You can use large cucumbers as long as they are not turned yellow in color.
If they have large seeds, cut them out.
An "electric slicing knife" and cutting board works well.
Lay jars on side and pack cucumbers firmly as they will shrink after cooking.
Put 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon mixed pickling spice and 1 teaspoon salt on top of cucumbers in jar.
