Mix together sugar, flour, salt and baking soda and set aside. In a separate saucepan mix together water, Crisco, butter and cocoa.
Bring to a boil and pour over flour mixture and beat well. Add vanilla, eggs, and buttermilk.
Beat again and pour into well greased pan, 15 x 10 x 1. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350Β°.
