Mississippi Mud
Mississippi Mud is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour, 1/3 c. cocoa and 4 whole eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream sugar and shortening.
Mix in eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour, cocoa and salt together; add to first mixture and mix well. Stir in pecans.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for about 45 minutes at 300Β°.
Remove from oven, turn oven off and spread marshmallows over top of cake; return to oven for 10 minutes or until marshmallows melt.
Cool, then ice.
