Heat oven to 325Β°.
In large bowl, mix butter, sugars, egg and vanilla at medium-high speed until fluffy.
Add dry ingredients to mixture.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheets. Press flat with glass cup that has been dipped in granulated sugar. Bake 8 to 9 minutes until cookies are lightly browned.
