Mildred's Salad
Mildred'S Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. torn lettuce, 2 c. torn romaine, 4 oz. swiss cheese, cut to thin strips, 1 1/2 c. cooked green peas and 6 slices bacon, crisp-cooked, drained and crumbled (can use bacon bits), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In large bowl toss together lettuce and romaine.
Top with cheese, peas, 1/2 of bacon and all onion.
In a separate bowl, stir together mayonnaise or salad dressing, sugar and salt.
Spoon over onion.
Do not toss.
Cover and chill 1 to 2 hours.
Before serving, sprinkle with remaining bacon and toss.
Serves 6 to 8.
