Mexican Crinkles
Mexican Crinkles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. soft shortening, 1 c. granulated sugar, 1 egg, 1/4 c. light corn syrup or 1/8 c. corn syrup and 1/8 c. molasses and 2 (1 oz.) sq. baker's chocolate, melted or 6 tbsp. cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream together shortening, sugar and egg.
Stir in syrup and chocolate.
Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon into creamed mixture.
Shape dough into balls the size of walnuts and roll in sugar.
Place balls on ungreased baking sheet, 3 inches apart. Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
