Mary's Persimmon Beer
Mary'S Persimmon Beer is an moderately easy dinner you can prepare in just 54 minutes. Made with persimmons (enough to fill a 2 gal. crock with a spigot, about 4 doz.), c. sugar and or 3 bunches needles from a pine tree (pine straw), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Place pine straw at the bottom of the crock.
Fill crock with whole persimmons, leaving a 3-inch air space at top.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Add warm water to cover.
Seal.
Let stand for 1 week. Strain free-flowing liquid through spigot and drink. Try it.
