Marble Cake
Marble Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. snowdrift shortening, 6 eggs, 1/4 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. vanilla extract and 1 (5 1/2 oz.) can chocolate syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream together shortening sugar; add 1 egg at a time, beating each addition.
Sift together dry ingredients; alternately buttermilk.
Add vanilla and blend
Pour half the batter into a well-greased and floured 10-inch chocolate syrup to remaining batter. Mix; pour chocolate mixture over top of other batter and fold in gently with spatula for marble effect.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Cool and frost as desired.
