Maple Cornbread
Maple Cornbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. cornmeal, 1/4 c. milk, 2 eggs, 1/4 c. butter or margarine and 1/3 c. maple syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Mix cornmeal and milk.
Set aside.
In another bowl, beat eggs.
Add butter or margarine and cream together.
Then add maple syrup, baking powder, sifted flour and sugar, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
Add cornmeal and milk mixture and stir to form a lumpy mixture (batter).
Scoop into greased loaf pan and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Cool about 15 minutes before slicing.
Wonderful as a side dish with turkey or chicken!
