Ma's Doughnuts
Ma'S Doughnuts is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 3/4 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. shortening and 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Mix until well blended.
Chill about 1 hour, then take about half of dough at a time, roll on floured surface to 1/4-inch thick.
Cut and fry in 375Β° deep fat for about 1 minute; turn once.
Remove with long-handled fork onto paper towels.
Makes about 3 dozen.
If you add 1 grated apple, doughnuts will be moist.
