Louisiana Hush Puppies
Louisiana Hush Puppies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 tbsp. cooking oil, 1/3 c. milk and 1 medium onion, grated, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Cook cornmeal and water over medium heat until all water is absorbed.
Remove from heat and stir in milk, oil and grated onion.
Gradually add beaten eggs, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Stir to mix well.
Refrigerate about 1 hour; remove and drop by teaspoon into hot grease.
Cook over medium heat until golden brown.
Yields 18 to 24.
