Louise's Oatmeal Cookies
Louise'S Oatmeal Cookies is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 26 minutes. Made with c. raisins, c. water, c. shortening, c. brown sugar and eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Boil raisins in water; drain raisins, saving 1/3 cup juice. Cream shortening; add sugar and cream again.
Add beaten eggs. Stir in oats.
Sift flour with spices, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately with 1/3 cup raisin water.
Add nuts and raisins.
Spoon onto cookie sheet with tablespoon or roll into balls by hand.
Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown at 350Β°. Do not overbake or the cookies will be hard.
