Lord Baltimore Cake
Lord Baltimore Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 2 1/4 c. sugar, 8 egg yolks, 3 3/4 c. sifted cake flour and 1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Add egg yolks, one at a time.
Beat well after each addition.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Mix just until blended after each addition. Stir in flavorings.
Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pans 10 minutes.
Remove from pans; cool completely.
