Light Bread
Light Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. hot water, 1/2 c. shortening, 1/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and 2 pkg. yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix hot water, shortening, sugar and salt.
Let cool.
Mix yeast in warm water.
Add to sugar mixture.
Add flour to make a stiff batter.
Put in large container; let rise 2 hours in warm place.
Grease pans.
Stir in more flour until dough is stiff. Knead dough thoroughly.
Make into loaves or buns.
Let rise 2 hours.
Bake in preheated oven at 400Β° until done.
Makes several loaves.
Brush top with oleo.
