Lemon Tea Bread
Lemon Tea Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. milk, 1 tbsp. chopped fresh lemon balm or 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 tbsp. chopped fresh lemon thyme or 1 tsp. dried thyme, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Combine the first 3 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
Remove from heat.
Cover; let stand 5 minutes.
Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Combine the next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Mix after each addition.
Stir in lemon rind.
